Renewable Propane: Growing Fast

Renewable propane, made from sources such as animal fats and vegetable oils, offers the same efficient and reliable performance as conventional propane — but will have an even smaller environmental impact because of its lower carbon content.

Processing plants already have the capacity to produce about 100 million gallons of renewable propane a year — and those numbers will continue to grow over the next decade.

According to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the potential demand for renewable propane in California alone could surpass 200 million gallons a year by 2030.
