Propane Tank Installation and Service

Northern California homeowners depend on Allied Propane Service for all of their aboveground or underground propane tank services, because we have build a decades-long reputation for professional oversight of all elements involved in tank installations — including governmental requirements, property care, and safety.

AboveGround Tank Installations

By far the most common tank installations today are aboveground. Compared to underground tanks, above ground ground tanks are much less disruptive to your property and allow faster inspection for leakage and easier servicing.

Every APS aboveground propane tank installation includes:

  • Prework site check — Walking your property to identify the safest, most convenient location for your new tank
  • Tank size recommendation — Based upon your family’s average usage requirements and installation location
  • Tank base build-out — Custom developed for the tank size, while ensuring it will remain level with no sink
  • Install piping from tank to your home — With minimum ground disruption, sod refill and minimum entrance through your home’s exterior wall
  • New tank installation — If we are replacing another company’s tank, they will remove theirs and we will install ours
  • Gas checks — To ensure tight seals and overall environmental and personal safety
  • Pilot light relights — So the system is fully operational before we leave
  • Customer walk-through and training — Our technician will provide you with a thorough tour of all work that was done, point out piping location, and review proper usage of all propane appliances and stoves

Underground Tank Installations

These are rarely needed in Northern California today, but we can help provide the service if required.

Every APS underground propane tank installation includes:

  • Prework site check — Walking your property to identify the safest, most convenient location for your new tank
  • Local and county codes research — To ensure your legal exposure is fully protected
  • Permit gathering and filing — Explaining to you what is covered, obtaining your signature and saving you the time of waiting in lines to file all paperwork with governmental clerks
  • Soil testing — Often part of code requirements, pre- and post-installation
  • Install piping from tank to your home — With minimum ground disruption, sod refill and minimum entrance through your home’s exterior wall
  • New tank installation — Please note that we do not remove or haul away old tanks.
  • Gas checks — To ensure tight seals and overall environmental and personal safety
  • Pilot light relights — So the system is fully operational before we leave
  • Customer walk-through and training — Our technician will provide you with a thorough tour of all work that was done, point out piping location and review proper usage of all propane appliances and stoves
