New Cylinder Exchange Program!

Dear Friends,
We’re pleased to announce a new service for our customers called A-Flame Propane Exchange. This is an exchange program for your 20-pound propane barbecue grill cylinders.
The cylinder exchange program is now available at all of our branches, as well as at our convenience store in Napa. We also have plans to extend the program to other retail locations in our service area. If you own a retail business, speak with us about getting set up with our new exchange program.

For even more convenience, you can participate in our A-Flame Propane Exchange delivery service. Just call us when you’re ready for a tank (or two) to be delivered to your home. We’ll come by and swap a new 20-pound tank of propane for your empty one. We’ll even hook it up for you.
Why lug a tank in your car and waste your time and your money on gas when we’ll do the heavy lifting for you? Plus, we can easily add the cost to your monthly invoice.
So if you want to avoid running out of gas for your grill, fighting traffic and long lines for a refill, and carrying around a heavy tank, give us a call today or contact us through our website.
Warmly,
Dustin Kaiser
Vice President

If you love the service and value you get from us, why not tell your friends, family or neighbors?
For everyone you refer who becomes a customer, we’ll reward both of you with a 50-gallon fuel credit!*
Make sure your friends give us your name when they sign up, and we’ll be sure to apply the credit to both your accounts. Call or contact us through our website for more information.
*Conditions apply; contact us for details.

The propane energy pod may sound like the latest electronic gadget, but it’s actually an innovative model for new-home construction that merges five applications of propane into an integrated whole-house energy package.
Builders now use this approach to give their buyers a home that is a pleasure to live in — with gas for cooking, clothes drying, fireplaces, unlimited hot water and super-efficient space heating.
Some builders are raising the bar even further by incorporating propane outdoor living products as well. As an added bonus, rebates are available through the Propane Education & Research Council.
If you or someone you know is considering purchasing a newly built home, please visit BuildWithPropane.com/energypod to check out videos, fact sheets and more. And then pass this information on to your builder.
A recent survey found that while propane customers have exceptionally high levels of satisfaction, most don’t realize all the ways propane can enhance their comfort, save them money and fuel their lifestyle. Think of propane as the single-fuel solution for your home!

5 key propane benefits
- Clean and green — Propane emits far less greenhouse gas than most other energy sources. Because of the clean-burning characteristics of propane, little maintenance is required.
- Cost-effective — Propane appliances can be less expensive to operate than comparable electric appliances, and they last longer too!
- Safe — The National Fire Protection Association enforces strict rules about the handling of propane, so few accidents occur each year. Every propane appliance is made with safety shutoffs, and most appliances are equipped with electronic ignition systems to give you years of trouble-free operation.
- Efficient — Propane appliances typically reduce energy costs, delivering better value and comfort than other heating sources. Today’s propane furnaces are now as much as 98% efficient.
- Flexible installations — Propane tanks can be installed just about anywhere, above or below ground. Additionally, propane water heaters take up less space, have more accurate temperature adjustment and offer more size and installation options.

yes, propane can do that too!
Propane is safe, efficient and clean burning, and most of it is produced right here in the U.S. Use this versatile fuel to:
Heat water: propane water heaters can cost less to operate than electric units. They provide much more hot water faster, and come in both storage tank and tankless options.
Heat your home: propane-fired furnaces and boilers are a lot more efficient and generate greater comfort than electricity. And by buying more, you may qualify for a lower price.
Cook: propane ovens and stoves offer more precise temperature control and are cheaper to run than their electric counterparts.
Put a glow in your fireplace: imagine being able to start a fire with the flick of a switch. It’s possible with propane — and a propane fireplace delivers more heat into the room than a wood fireplace.
Dry clothes: propane dryers are almost twice as efficient as electric models.
Supply emergency power: propane is a popular choice as a fuel for whole-house backup generators. And since your fuel is stored right on your property, you can continue to enjoy all of the comforts of home until your power is restored.
propane power vs. electric power
CLEANER than electricity
Because propane is nontoxic and doesn’t pose a threat to soil and water, (above or below ground), it is not regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency.
The average propane-powered home reduces carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 30% compared with all-electric homes.
Direct use of propane for space heating, water heating, cooking and drying clothes reduces greenhouse gas emissions up to 50%.
MORE EFFICIENT than electricity
Propane is more efficient than electricity when evaluating the total energy consumed (this includes the energy used in the extraction, production, processing and transportation of the fuel to the point of use).
Most high-efficiency propane furnaces feature two-stage gas burners and variablespeed motors to deliver all the warm air you need. That’s why, on the coldest of nights, propane-heated homes are much warmer than those that rely solely on electric heat.

what’s so hot about propane water heaters?
Propane water heaters cost much less to operate than electric heaters, with a hot water recovery rate that’s about twice as fast as electric models, which means there’s little chance of running out of hot water!
Choose an efficient propane water heating system over a standard — and inefficient — electric water heater and you can reduce your energy costs substantially.

Count on Allied Propane Service to get you set up with the right size of propane tank and ensure prompt deliveries. Constructed to last for decades, our underground and aboveground propane storage tanks are made of heavy-gauge steel with a special coating to prevent corrosion.
We have a range of sizes to suit any building. Our propane experts can help you evaluate your needs and ensure that you have the right tank for your home or business.
In general, we determine the size of your tank by usage. If you use propane for various appliances but not for heating your home, you will require a smaller capacity than a home that uses propane for central heat. Very large homes and many businesses require larger capacities because of their fuel usage.

It’s the time of year for community events! Our Dixon location has been particularly busy recently. In May, we served as a sponsor of the Dixon Fair and continued our active support of the 4-H junior livestock auction.
Later this summer, the team at Dixon will participate in the Solano County Farm Bureau’s annual summer fund-raiser as well as a Farm to Fork summer event in Yolo County. You can also look for members of Allied Propane Services at:
- Napa Town and Country Fair — August 8–12

Did you know that propane grills are a healthy and environmentally friendly way to cook your food? Research shows that cooking on a charcoal grill can lead to as much as 105 times more carbon monoxide being produced than when cooking on a propane grill. A typical charcoal grill also produces an astonishing 11 pounds of carbon dioxide per hour, or twice as much as a propane grill. (An electric grill does even worse, producing 15 pounds of carbon dioxide per hour).*
Besides producing much lower emissions levels, propane grills greatly reduce your exposure to carcinogens that end up in your food when grilling. Charcoal grills create more smoke and burn hotter, leading to the formation of toxins that have been linked to some cancers.
Here are tips to ensure that your grilled meat is the safest it can be:
- trim excess fat before cooking
- marinate your meat with rosemary (studies show that this significantly reduces toxins; marinades made with garlic, onion and lemon juice are also recommended)
- flip the meat frequently when cooking
We wish you a happy, safe and healthy season of grilling with propane!
